Nowadays, Vietnam is one of the most attractive software outsourcing destinations with highly skilled IT workforce and top tech talents. Prominent US tech companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Intel have invested in Vietnam for software outsourcing projects. In addition, the average salary offered to IT employees has almost doubled throughout the decade demonstrating a rising demand in this field.
According to the Vietnam recruitment website’s survey of 2000 IT engineers, just less than 10 percent are not satisfied with the current salary and welfare. Meanwhile, 78 percent of all respondents are pleased because of an annual 13th-month bonus or Tet holiday bonus. That leads to employees who will stick with the companies longer, about 4 - 5 years.
When engineers leave their companies, the most popular reason is a better salary with 89 percent, 67 percent of respondents want to get a better chance for promotion and the third reason is better welfare with 66 percentage.
Digital transformation brings lots of opportunities for IT industry not only for Vietnam but also for any enterprises all over the world. With the scale-up in the amount of 50,000 information and communications technology businesses in Vietnam last year, the government desires to double by 2030 to represent in the list of top 30 players in the sector.
