According to Vietnam IT Market Report 2020, Vietnam has got significant indexes through 2019 and early 2020.
The Ministry of Information and Communications announced that total ICT industry revenue in 2019 is estimated at $112,350B, including 81.5% for ICT export, and software industry revenue reached $5B, up to $500M compared to last year. Besides, Vietnam is in Top 05 in Global Software Outsourcing Industry and claims 8th positions in Top Digital Nations (A.T. Kearney Outsourcing Location Report 2019). Vietnam also ranks 8th on the list of the best countries to invest in (U.S News & World Report 2019). And lots of remarkable indicators make Vietnam become an ideal destination for leading technology companies to invest in.
Moreover, prominent tech companies have invested in Vietnam for several years. That helps Vietnam has opportunities to access the latest leading technologies and standard process with modern machinery.
Despite many of the world’s top indicators, there are lots of challenges for Vietnam, including the shortage of IT high-qualified engineers. In the latest market report, 70% of IT fresh graduates need more training and there will be more 100,000 engineers missing in 2020. Many companies still spend lots of time on training and helping employees to get used to the working environment.
2020 is promised to be the year of a great start to move towards a digital Vietnam and become an IT nation of the region.
