The survey conducted by three organizations demonstrates the great impact of technology on Vietnamese people works and daily lives. The report also provides data in three different countries which is used to compared with data of Vietnamese users.
Vietnamese research firm InsightAsia cooperating with public relations and digital marketing agency have conducted a survey – 2020 Vietnam Tech Consumer Report – of users in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City that found while technology is considered to be taking over their daily lives in a very progressive manner, most consumers don’t even mind it.

The survey represents that most consumers have an extremely positive outlook in technology – comprising both products and services – and it also shows the increasingly high expectations of consumers in the contribution of technology in many aspects of their lives.
This survey was also conducted in Myanmar and Thailand and Myanmar, and more than 65% of respondents agreed about a positive impact of technology on their lives, compared to only 6% of respondents who have negative thoughts.
Remarkably, this research also shows that Vietnamese, of the three countries, are most likely to recognize that technology is occupying their lives, accounted for 66% which is compared to consumers in Thailand - 39%, and those in Myanmar – 52%.
In addition, Vietnamese consumers have a great deal of positive connections with technology including improved work performance, better relationships with others, relaxation, and stress relief.
On the other hand, nearly 50% of consumers admitted that they have lost sleep due to their use of technology. Additionally, up to 39% of Vietnamese thought that social media is a one of the reasons which make them feel exhausted. Respondents also recognized that their experience is more conflict while utilizing social media. And sometimes, consumers feel to be forced to use social media and it caused the lose control of their lives.
The report also notes that television is the most common source through which Vietnamese become aware of tech products and that they use technology platforms like Youtube to find out about product reviews from other consumers.
