The digital transformation program has targeted that Ho Chi Minh City will become a smart city by 2030, with fundamental and comprehensive innovation in the operation of the digital government apparatus, digital businesses and the prosperity and civilization of a digital society.
Accordingly, by 2025, the rate of files which are processed by online public services at levels 3 and 4 will reach over 50%; at least 90% of people and businesses will be satisfied with the administrative procedures; the digital economy will take an account for 25% of the GRDP, and annual labor productivity will increase by at least 7%. By 2030, the city aims at providing 100% of level 4 online public services on various means of access, including mobile devices, etc.
This announcement reflects that Ho Chi Minh City has chosen a faster development path based on human intelligence, while promoting the power of information technology and artificial intelligence, said Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan.
The upcoming City Party Congress will propose a breakthrough program on human resources, especially in information technology, communications and artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, it will identify IT products as the key product group.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan also suggested that the city authorities should research and establish a center for introducing consulting products, deploying digital services and developing smart products.
